Dudley Saayman, Head of Finance

Dudley Saayman became Head of Finance in 2007, after an extensive career within the tobacco industry.

Dudley joined the Transatlantic Tobacco Company in March 1995 as a Management Accountant. He completed his tertiary studies at the Rand Afrikaans University and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1990.

He was transferred from South Africa to Europe in September 1998 to take up the role of Regional Finance Controller in Europe for Rothmans International. 

After the merger between Rothmans International and British American Tobacco, he was appointed as Area Finance Manager for Southern Europe based in Switzerland for 2 years. In July 2001, he was transferred to British American Tobacco's Head Office in the UK to fill a role in Operations Finance for Europe. 

He then moved into the Global Operations & IT Finance Manager's role in February 2004, which he held until his appointment as British American Tobacco South Africa’s Head of Finance in 2007.

When he has spare time, Dudley enjoys participating in or watching all types of sport and is a big Springbok supporter. He also loves a game of golf and squash and cycles to stay "trim". Dudley is married to Michelle and they have three children.
