Richard Widmann joined the British American Tobacco South Africa team in January 2011 as Head of Marketing, following an extensive career in British American Tobacco and the FMCG environment.
Richard joined British American Tobacco 10 years ago as a Distribution Development Manager based in Globe House, London, after having obtained extensive experience in the FMCG environment working for Coca-Cola in a number of European countries.
After his assignment in London, Richard worked in Malaysia where he oversaw the transformation of British American Tobacco Malaysia's Trade Marketing and Distribution (TM&D) structure. More recently, as the Regional Head of TM&d for the Americas, Richard played a critical role in establishing and implementing a strong regional TM&D agenda through his strong people leadership capabilities and highly respected functional expertise. Not to forget his significant contribution in delivering outstanding results regarding Global Drive Brand and profit performance of America's Global Travel Retail business.
Richard is married to Agnieszka and has two children.
